CURTIS PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT FOR INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

Kelly Curtis - Limestone CollegeAfter serving nine months on an interim basis, Kelly Curtis was recently named Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Limestone College.

Curtis is a Gaffney native who graduated from Limestone in 1999 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in computer information systems.  She started her career at Limestone in 1996 as the administrative assistant for Institutional Advancement.  Since that time she has served as Director of Alumni Affairs, Director of Corporate and Annual Giving, and Associate Vice President for Development.

She was also the Director of the Capital Campaign to Restore the Winnie Davis Hall of History, and is now the Director of Limestone’s current capital campaign, “Today’s Needs … Tomorrow’s Dreams.”  Curtis served as Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement from July of 2013 until April of 2014. Dr. Walt Griffin announced at the spring meeting of the Board of Trustees that Curtis’ interim title had been removed.

“Words cannot begin to describe how excited I am about this opportunity at this wonderful institution,” Curtis said. “I appreciate Dr. Griffin’s confidence in me to lead our Institutional Advancement office into the future. We have a lot of exciting plans on the horizon. One of the things I want to do over the next several months it is to strengthen the bond between the College and our alumni. I want them to know how important they are to Limestone.

“As Limestone continues to gain in prominence in our region and nationally, private support will be critical to sustaining our momentum,” she continued. “I look forward to working with colleagues to create an environment where alumni and community stakeholders have an opportunity to play a meaningful role in our future success.”

The Vice President for Institutional Advancement is the chief development officer of the College and provides leadership for securing the support essential to fulfill Limestone College’s mission. The Vice President is responsible for the management of all fund-raising endeavors and actively collaborates with the President, the College’s senior leadership, and the Board of Trustees to define and implement an overarching advancement strategy. The Vice President develops and maintains relationships with alumni, donors, potential donors, and the community at large.  

Curtis is also responsible for directly overseeing the functions and activities of the offices of Development, Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, and Communications.
