What happens to my student loans?

You can access all your federal student loan information by visiting studentaid.gov. You will log in using your Federal Student Aid username and password.

If you graduate, drop below half-time enrollment, or withdraw, your federal loans will move into repayment. Federal Direct Loans typically come with a six-month grace period before repayment begins. During this time, your loan servicer will contact you with details about your repayment plan, monthly payment amount, and available options. For any questions, please reach out directly to your loan servicer. Your loan servicer can be found on your studentaid.gov dashboard under ‘My Loan Servicers’.

If Limestone is no longer operating when you’re enrolled, you may qualify for a Closed School Loan Discharge. Learn more about eligibility and how to apply at: studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/closed-school.

Will my Limestone degree still be valid?

Yes. Your Limestone University degree remains fully valid and recognized. Limestone has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), ensuring that your academic accomplishments are officially recorded and respected. Your transcript will continue to reflect all courses, grades, GPAs, and degrees earned.

How can I request my transcript? Will employers be able to verify my degree?

If the University moves to fully online, transcripts will continue to be requested through our Registrar’s Office as usual. National Student Clearinghouse: getmytranscript.com

If the University closes, Limestone’s academic records will be managed by another College/University and that information will be provided once we know that is the case.

Can I still request transcripts if I owed a balance to Limestone?

If the University moves to a fully online institution, transcript holds due to balances will remain in place.

If the University closes, all transcript holds will be lifted.
