Nine contestants will vie for the title of “Miss Limestone College” during a pageant on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Fullerton Auditorium.
The event, sponsored by the Limestone Activity Board (LAB), will begin at 7 p.m., and admission is free. The public is invited to attend.
The winner will serve for a year as an ambassador for Limestone in the community and at select \on-campus events at the College.
The contestants, all current Limestone students representing various academic programs, include Nikki Daily (junior; Mooresville, NC), Alayna Downey (junior; Gaffney), Brittany Durrah (sophomore; Duncan, SC), Shiniqua Gist (senior; Union, SC), Bailey Hammonds (freshman; Grovetown, GA), Alexis Harris (sophomore; Spartanburg, SC), Taylor Sheppard (freshman; North Augusta, SC), Megan Smith (senior; Marietta, GA), and Yamonee Watts (sophomore, Lancaster, SC).
Each contestant will compete in casual wear, talent, and evening wear. There will also be an on-stage interview portion of the pageant.
In addition to Miss Limestone College being crowned, winners will also be announced for “People’s Choice Award,” “Best Talent, “Best Casual Wear,” and “Miss Congeniality.”
The pageant will make a donation to The Haven Shelter, a nonprofit homeless shelter for families located in Spartanburg. In addition to the proceeds raised through a Miss Limestone College sponsored bake sale, those in attendance can support their favorite contestant by making donations in their name in the lobby of the auditorium. The contestant who collects the most donations will be presented with the “People’s Choice Award.”
