Graduate Assistant will work 20 hours a week. The schedule will be determined based on the department's needs and the successful candidate's availability. The standard workday is Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and Friday 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM.
SCOPE OF WORK:
As a Graduate Assistant for First-Year Programs, you will play a key role in supporting new students through their transition to college life, focusing on Orientation, LAUNCH, and other first-year programs. You will assist in planning and executing events and initiatives designed to help first-year students feel welcomed, informed, and engaged as they begin their academic journey. This position reports to the Director of First Year Experiences and works closely with various departments, including all of Student Success, Admissions, Academic Advising, and other campus offices, to ensure a smooth and positive experience for incoming students. This position is based on the main campus in Gaffney, SC.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Assist in guiding new and prospective first-year students through the Orientation process, LAUNCH and other student engagement initiatives, answering questions related to program schedules, campus resources, and first-year requirements. Communicate with incoming students via phone, email, text and in-person interactions.
b. Contribute to the planning and execution of Orientation, ensuring that all first-year students receive timely and helpful information.
c. Keep accurate and detailed records of student engagement and attendance of all first-year events.
d. Collaborate with staff members from all of Student Success, Academic Advising, Admissions, and other campus offices to provide first-year students with a seamless and supportive transition into university life.
e. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed and aligned with departmental goals and student support strategies.
f. Assist in organizing and coordinating training sessions for Orientation/LAUNCH Leaders, including scheduling sessions, tracking attendance, and ensuring all leaders are properly prepared for their roles.
g. Other duties as assigned.

Job Overview-The successful candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the program, including but not limited to: coaching the throwing events, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, office duties, recruiting, reporting strength & conditioning and athletic training participation, along with other duties as needed to continue the success of the program.
Requirements- A Bachelor degree is required for this position. Candidate must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of Limestone University, the SAC, and the NCAA. Candidates must have previous successful coaching experience at the NCAA level. The selected candidate must be willing to consent to, and pass, with satisfactory results, an investigative consumer report.
