Limestone University provides the following options to make it easy for you to change or reset your password.

Password Reset via Computer
(Limestone Issued Devices Only)

Follow the steps below to reset your password via your computer. Reminder: Changing your Limestone password also changes the password for your computer, email, The Halo, and Canvas logins.

  1. Log in to your office computer.
  2. Once logged in, press CTRL + ALT + DEL.
  3. Select Change Password.
  4. Enter your Old Password.
  5. Enter your New Password.
  6. Confirm your New Password.
  7. Press Enter. Once changed, the new password will become effective immediately.

Microsoft Office 365

Setup Your Account for Password Self-Service

The first time you log into Microsoft Office 365, you will be prompted to set up your account security. Once this is complete, you will be able to reset your password with a two-step verification process.

  1. Log in to your Office 365 account here: https://www.office.com
  2. Select Next at the More information required prompt. Ignore the Use a different account link.
  3. Select the Set it up now link next to Authentication Phone, select your country or region, enter your preferred phone number, and verify the number via text or a phone call.
  4. Select the Set it up now link next to Security Questions, answer 4 security questions and click the save answers button.
  5. When a green check mark shows on both options, select Finish.

Change Your Password via Office 365

  1. Log in to your Office 365 account here: https://www.office.com
  2. Select the gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Change your password.
  3. Enter your current password in the Old password field.
  4. Enter your new password in the Create new password and Confirm new password fields.
  5. Select submit. Once changed, the new password will become effective immediately.

Reset Your Password via Office 365

  1. Visit Office 365 here: https://www.office.com.
  2. Enter your email address and click Next.
  3. Select the Forgot my password link.
  4. Enter the characters in the picture or the words in the audio and click Next.
  5. Choose text or call my mobile phone for verification step 1 and follow the steps.
  6. Answer three security questions for verification step 2 and click Next.
  7. Enter your new password in the new password and Confirm new password fields.
  8. Select Finish. Once changed, the new password will become effective immediately.

Change Your Security Questions

  1. Access Office 365 here.
  2. If prompted, enter your email address and password.
  3. Select the Change link next to the security questions.
  4. Choose Select a new question and select a new question from the drop-down list.
  5. Enter new answers and click save answers.
Password Complexity Requirements

Limestone requires that your password must meet the following requirements:

  • Contain at least 10 characters
  • Include at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character (e.g. $, &, @)
  • It cannot include any part of your name or username.
  • You cannot repeat the last 6 passwords previously used.
Password Tips
  • If you change or reset your password using Office 365, the new password will be used to access the following systems: Limestone email, The Halo, Limestone wireless network, Canvas, and Limestone computers.
  • Use a different password for every website or service you use.
  • Passwords should be changed periodically.
  • Create strong passphrases. (e.g. G0B0ldG0Blu3!$&)
  • Never share your password with anyone.
  • If you suspect that someone has learned your password, change it immediately following the steps above.
