Due to the impact of Hurricane Helene, Limestone University’s Homecoming football game against Emory & Henry University that was scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, at 4 p.m., has been postponed until Sunday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m.

Limestone University will induct five new members into its Athletics Hall of Fame during a special ceremony on Friday, Oct. 18, inside the Hines & Riggins Center. The Class of 2024 includes former players Melissa DeVore (women’s basketball), Marquintus Jones (men’s basketball), Matt Malloy (men’s lacrosse), and Amy Yates (softball), along with special inductee Andy Solomon.

Remembering Bob Prevatte
Funeral services for legendary coach Bob Prevatte will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at First Baptist Church in Gaffney. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment with military honors will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Limestone University is the proud home of the Bob Prevatte Athletic Complex that was made possible through a gift from Coach Prevatte's former player and long-time friend Jerry Richardson. The Saints' baseball field is also named for Coach Prevatte.

The No.2-seeded Limestone University men's lacrosse team hosts No.5-seed Lenoir-Rhyne this Sunday, May 21, at 1 p.m. in the NCAA Division II National Championship Semifinals. The winner will advance into the National Title Game on Sunday, May 28, in Philadelphia. Tickets to the semifinal contest at Saints Field against the visiting Bears are now available online. Adult tickets are $5 and student tickets (12-under and college students) are $3 each.

Fundraising efforts are currently underway to provide upgrades to Saints Field, which hosts Limestone University football, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, and field hockey. The upgrades will also provide Limestone the opportunity to move future graduation ceremonies to the stadium, as well as host other large-scale events.

Remembering Gaylord Perry
Limestone and the Cherokee County community are mourning the loss of the University’s inaugural baseball coach and friend Gaylord Jackson Perry. Founding Limestone's baseball program in 1987, Perry died on Thursday, Dec. 1, at the age of 84.

Limestone Head Dance Coach and University alumna Keasha Currence has landed a second job for 2022 – named recently as a TopCat cheerleader for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers.

A crew from Geo Surfaces was busy installing the goal posts in what will be the end zones of Limestone's new football field.
