CampusWorks, a strategic higher education consulting firm, is partnering with Limestone College to provide technology leadership and operational responsibility of its information technology (IT) environment.
The collaboration with CampusWorks will enable Limestone to better serve its students and operate more efficiently by building a first-class, streamlined technology organization that offers more robust services, expanded Wi-Fi access, and better support for faculty, staff, and students.
CampusWorks will assume IT leadership on July 1, which coincides with the retirement of Carnegie “C.R.” Horton, Limestone’s long-time Vice President for information technology. The College is partnering with CampusWorks for a period of five years, during which time the firm will assist the College in preparing to transition to vendor independence.
“We have full confidence that this partnership will allow Limestone to focus on what we do best, which is providing excellent educational opportunities for our students,” said Limestone President Dr. Darrell Parker. “Those opportunities are enhanced and supported by technology.
“We thank C.R. Horton for his hard work and dedication to this institution for the past 29 years,” Dr. Parker continued. “He was an asset to Limestone and was instrumental in developing the technology that assists our online and evening program students. We felt it was the right time to partner with a firm that could take our technology efforts to even greater heights as Limestone continues to grow and evolve.”
CampusWorks has more than 18 years of experience leading and managing IT operations for numerous colleges and universities, and it has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to improve operational efficiency, reduce technology costs and develop long-term IT strategies that allow institutions to be proactive in their growth rather than reactive to an ever-changing market.
“Given the changing higher education landscape, we appreciate that today’s institutions need to deliver enhanced technology services to support the thriving changes required to grow and prosper,” said CampusWorks’ Chief Executive Officer Mahendran Jawaharlal. “We are committed to ensuring that every member of the Limestone community has a voice and is engaged in the transformation process”.
“CampusWorks will provide IT leadership that ensures the needs of students, faculty, and staff are being heard and addressed while aligning technology with the College’s overall strategic focus in order to position the institution for stronger student success outcomes,” Jawaharlal added.
Limestone’s current IT staff will work hand-in-hand with CampusWorks to enhance the College’s technology services, improve its IT infrastructure, and implement best practices.
“This is yet another step toward achieving our strategic vision and making our drive to university status in two years,” said Dr. Parker, in reference to the institution’s name change to Limestone University in the fall of 2020.
It was announced earlier this month that Sodexo, a food services and facilities management company is collaborating with the College to expand its dining services, while also offering the campus improved services for facility and grounds maintenance, housekeeping, and the bookstore.
