  • Assistant/Associate Professor of Social Work (MSW)-Field (#392)

    Limestone University invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Social Work (MSW)-Field.

    Graduate Level Faculty (PhD or DSW required) Professor position is a 12-month appointment in a MSW program fully accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE). The primary assignment for this position includes teaching (with a special provision for teaching in support of the programs field education department), advising, recruiting, retention, professional tutoring and mentoring MSW students served by Limestone University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree Program. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    Limestone University Master of Social Work Program (MSW) Assistant Professor and Associate Professor(s) are considered full-time tenure track faculty positions. As such, they are required to attend a weekly MSW Development Team meeting with the Social Work Faculty/Staff. These meetings include formal minutes and set agendas. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: Teaching assigned MSW Social Work courses, carrying a standard advising load, assisting with SASC and CSWE accreditation responsibilities, assisting with marketing Limestone University and the MSW Social Work program in all designated service areas. A PhD or DSW with an MSW from regionally accredited institutions are required. An LMSW and/or LISW is preferred. Preference will be given to individuals with five or more years of college/university teaching, marketing, and advising experience. 

    All MSW Program faculty are required to communicate on a continuing basis with the Director of the MSW Program. This may be set as a once weekly or once monthly meetings depending on the need for direction or support. All graduate faculty working for the program are required to keep office hours that allow them to meet with and advise students. Faculty are required to attend all relevant training programs for the university personnel, (such as LMS training, safety training, student evaluation training etc..). Formal Limestone University functions such as faculty orientation, faculty meetings, graduation, and service on university committees etc.., are required. Graduate faculty are included in all the program general functions and communications. Each faculty member is evaluated by the MSW Program Director at the end of each contract year. Faculty are ranked according to overall productivity on all levels including quality of teaching, quality of advising, marketing, and program participation.

    • Five years of post-graduate teaching experience

    • Experience in Canvas LMS including Canvas Collaborate preferred

    Education and/or Experience:

    • PhD or DSW (PhD in Social Work preferred) 
    • Two years’ experience teaching at the graduate level preferred 
    • At least two years of experience in social work employment preferred 

    Language Skills: 

    • English language required
    • Spanish and other language proficiency a plus

    Qualifications

    MSN degree, terminal degree (PhD, DNP) preferred; experience in mental health preferred; degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing and in education or administration; a current, active, unencumbered SC nursing license; minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care; two years clinical experience in the area of assigned clinical responsibilities; current American Heart Association BLS for health care providers CPR certification; excellent oral and written communication skills; and highly organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to consistently multi-task.

    Lecturer/Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Chemistry beginning Fall 2024 (9- month contract):

    Limestone University is a small historic co-educational University located in Upstate South Carolina near Charlotte, NC, and Spartanburg/Greenville, SC, originally founded in 1845 with the stated mission to provide opportunities for higher education for those who might otherwise not have access to them. Limestone serves a significant first-generation college and minority student population, a vibrant growing Honors College, and a diverse student body with many international students.

    The new College of Health Sciences (beginning July 1) includes Biology, Chemistry, and related science disciplines. It produces students who succeed in medical, dental, veterinary, pharmacy, and other doctoral-level professional programs at a high level.  In addition, the College includes Health Care Administration, Health Sciences, Kinesiology/Exercise Science/Strength and Conditioning, PE Education- Certification, Nursing (BSN and MSN), and a rapidly growing Health Sciences major which prepares students for many certificate, master’s, and doctoral level allied health professions programs.

    The holder of this position will typically teach a total of 12-15 semester hours, including nonmajor, general, and organic chemistry lectures and labs each Fall and Spring semester.  There may also be opportunities to teach non-majors electives and Biochemistry if qualified for additional pay.  This is a teaching-centric position, but the opportunity to engage in student-centered research with new state-of-the-art GC, HPLC, NMR, DNA sequencing, imaging, and other analytical equipment is available. 

    They will work with Biology, Health Sciences, Exercise Science, and Nursing program faculty in the College of Health Sciences to support diverse learners, implement and innovate lecture and laboratory curricula, and maintain laboratory space and equipment.  The position requires effective communication and the ability to develop and deliver outcome-driven education collaboratively with colleagues, undergraduate teaching assistants, and students.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Doctorate or ABD from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in chemistry with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in the discipline.
    • Experience and success in teaching chemistry in the classroom and laboratory settings to students with various backgrounds and interests.
    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use technology in creating and delivering course content.
    • An interest in engaging students in the process of science and student-centered research activities.

  • Assistant/Associate Professor of Elementary Education (#284)

    Limestone University invites applications for the position of a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Elementary Education starting August 2024. The primary responsibilities of the person who occupies this position will include dynamic teaching of undergraduate courses related to Elementary Education and Literacy, advising undergraduate Elementary Education Teacher Candidates, participation in accreditation and other Teacher Education Program academic and social activities, service to the institution and the field, and scholarly activity. Courses will be taught face-to-face on the Gaffney, South Carolina campus during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend events will require attendance. Experience with LiveText and Canvas is preferred. Familiarity with South Carolina Teaching Standards, CAEP, and South Carolina Elementary Education Standards preferred. Some travel required. 

     A terminal degree with 18 graduate hours in Elementary Education and 18 hours in literacy is required. A minimum of three years of successful elementary public school teaching required.

    Registrar

    Job Overview

    Reporting directly to the Provost, the Registrar is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the entire registration process of the university and the everyday operation of the Registrar's office. The Registrar must create and maintain collaborative working relationships with institutional leadership, faculty, and staff and support University programs and policies as established by federal, state, administrative, and academic entities. The Registrar acts as a central communication resource for academic and policy information related to student records management. The Registrar is responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the academic record.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Includes the following and other duties that may be assigned.

    • Oversees all operations in the registration process (record creation, course schedule building, classroom assignment, final exam scheduling, grade processing, transcript issuance, and student enrollment verification).
    • Oversees all operations in the transfer credit process (evaluation of transcripts, posting of credit, processing, and building of transfer credit rules in Jenzabar).
    • Responsible for the development of the Academic Calendar, updating of the Registrar's Office website, and assisting with the development and publication of the University Catalog.
    • Oversees all operations for beginning and end of term processes related to academic processes (building of terms, activating students, enforcing pre- and co-requisites, pulling probation/suspension reports, communicating with students about academic actions, including Dean's list)
    • Responsible for enrollment and degree reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse
    • Establishes and maintains collaborative and effective working relationships with a diverse group of leaders across the University.
    • Serves on various University committees.
    • Manages the fiscal affairs of the department, including budget development and priorities. Exercises direct fiscal control over the approved budget.
    • Enforces the provision of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and acts as the University's chief compliance officer for FERPA.
    • Enforces compliance with University Catalog requirements as they pertain to the Registrar's Office.
    • Participates in Commencement activities; certifies all student record documents related to degree completion and produces diplomas.
    • Provides Institutional Research assistance for IPEDS, the Common Data Set, US News & World Report, and other annual reports
    • Works with academic deans to assign academic advisors. Trains new faculty/advisors in the use of the LC HALO for grade entry and advising.
    • Solely responsible for building, correcting, updating, and maintaining degree audits (trees) in Jenzabar.
    • Makes presentations to faculty and advisors regarding curriculum changes, advising regulations, and changes in utilization of the computer system (Jenzabar).

    Competencies

    • Qualifications: To be a successful Registrar, an individual must be able to perform the essential daily duties satisfactorily.

    • Education and/or Experience: Master's Degree; previous work experience in higher education.

    • Language Skills: Ability to write correspondence professionally. Ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one situations and small group situations to students, parents, faculty, and staff.

    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with problems using understanding and common sense. Ability to look for solutions to the normal and abnormal situations that arise from students, parents, faculty, and staff.
    • Computer Skills: Must have knowledge of Microsoft Programs and be able to perform tasks in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. The Registrar is the supervisor of the STUDENT Computer Program and must ensure the quality of the program's computer data.
    • Travel: Ability to travel alone and with others to meetings and conferences.
    • Physical Demands:Ability to perform the physical demands of the position. May require sitting or standing for long periods.
    • Work Environment: Generally, quite busy at times. May be required to work at home as well as in the office.

    Required Qualifications    

    • A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Computer experience is required; Jenzabar and Salesforce experience are preferred.
    • Five years of progressive experience in higher education with most of the time spent in a Registrar’s office or related experience and/or training.
    • Knowledge of academic standards, FERPA, and catalog protocol
    • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
    • Experience working in small teams and prioritizing workloads in a dynamic environment. 
    • Proven record of successful supervisory experience in a people-oriented environment.
    • Must be able to work without constant supervision, make decisions, and exercise good judgment.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    The Online and Graduate Enrollment Counselor at Limestone University is responsible for recruiting and assisting prospective students through the admissions process for the Online and Graduate Programs. This position includes all aspects of the admissions process for an assigned population, from inquiry to acceptance. This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Online and Graduate Programs. It works collaboratively with Student Success Coaches/Advisors to ensure that accepted students continue through the funnel to registration. The position also works collaboratively with the Registrar's Office, the Student Accounts Office, Financial Aid, and other university offices. This position is based on the main campus in Gaffney, SC.

      • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive recruitment plan to ensure the growth and success of online and graduate programs. Create action plans to obtain personal, professional, and departmental growth and objectives.
    • Collaborate with other Enrollment Counselors to maintain a friendly, service-oriented relationship with prospective students through effective phone, email, video conference, and face-to-face communication.

    • Oversee the repairs and maintenance of the Hines & Riggins Student Center, Timken Weightroom, and other areas in the Timken East Gymnasium.

    • Ensure revenue and expenditures are reported appropriately to the Business Office

    Camps and Conferences 

    • Assist in the management of conference and event-related activities, including client billing and contracts.  
    • Schedule and coordinate University Services (meals, housing, meeting spaces, transportation, and other support services) for conferences, workshops, and summer camps 
    • Develop a network of potential clients and colleagues within the conference and event industry to enhance the public presence of the University as a conference site.

    Position Summary: The Director of Athletic Bands is responsible for creating and maintaining a thriving athletic band program with a positive culture for current and prospective students. The Director is responsible for all aspects of the athletic band program, including (but not limited to) promotion, recruitment, organization, and instruction. The Director must contribute to and promote a positive learning and social environment for current and prospective Limestone students. This position will report to the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    Director of Athletic Bands

    Primary duties:

    • Lead Limestone University’s plans to build a larger and energetic collegiate Athletic Bands consisting of the Marching Band and the Pep Band. 
    • Organize and execute rehearsals and performance events supporting Limestone Athletics (especially football and basketball) and the university at large. (e.g., Convocation, etc.), working directly with athletics administrators, cheer/dance coaches, Campus Housing, Physical Plant, and other relevant offices, persons, and non-Limestone entities as needed in planning such events.
    • Manage athletic bands budget, including (a) tracking spending, storing receipts for all purchases, and reconciling credit card monthly credit card statements; (b) managing marching band scholarships by entering them into Jenzabar, communicating with finance staff as each are added or deleted, and making sure scholarships do not exceed caps (additions and subtractions happen regularly each month).
    • When the need for the positions are approved, hire and oversee additional staff for the athletic bands as needed (e.g., color guard staff, drill, writing, arranging, uniform management, tech staff)
    • Maintain athletic bands’ portion of equipment inventory. (instruments, uniforms, etc.) 

    Recruitment and Retention

    • Organize and oversee all recruitment for the Athletic Bands, including (a) events such as Honor Bands, Sight-Reading Band, Virtual Honor Band, band member for a day at performance, recruitment performances, and exhibitor booths for conferences and open house days; (b) school visits; (c) recruitment lessons; and (d) maintaining prospective students lists for the band, providing assistance through the application and matriculation processes, and working with admissions administration and representatives.
    • Recruitment of students through various methods via campus visits, band rehearsals, attendance at games, social media outreach, admissions event planning, and maintaining effective communication with students and music teachers. (The roster for the band will be set with annual goals to increase).

    Competencies/Qualifications: Instrumental Music and band performance knowledge and skills commensurate with a bachelor’s’ degree in Music Education or Instrumental Conducting; familiarity with local school systems, music programs, and directors/teachers preferred.

    Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in music field (preferably Music Education) or equivalent experience; Master’s degree in music field not required but preferred; At least 3 years of collegiate or high school teaching experience preferred.

  • Full Time Housekeeper (#735)

    The Limestone University Physical Plant is seeking a Full Time Housekeeper to join the housekeeping team. This position reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor. In the event of an emergency, he/she may be called to support necessary tasks in association with that emergency. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Limestone may identify other responsibilities of the position.

    Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of proper and safe use of applicable custodial equipment.
    • Willingness to be open to learning and growing.

    • May shampoo and cleans carpets or buff and polish floors which will require the use of mechanical equipment.

  • Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement (#643)

    Limestone University invites applications for a full-time position of Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

    Position Summary:  The Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement will be responsible for the oversight and execution of major and planned giving, leadership giving, foundation and corporate relations, advancement services, prospect research and management, and donor relations. The Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement will maintain a personal portfolio of major donors, prospects, and foundations, while bringing strategic vision and discipline to the leadership, major, and planned giving programs. The Associate Vice President will supervise team members and drive effective performance, including developing and implementing best practices and systems in advancement and promoting excellence in all aspects of advancement’s work. This position serves major gift fundraising efforts and manages a portfolio of prospects.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead the Advancement team in the planning and implementation of long- and short-term strategies to secure gifts from individuals and organizations through major, planned, and annual gifts. 
    • Work with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement to establish measurable goals to increase fundraising results. 
    • Maintain a portfolio and solicit major and planned gifts.
    • Ensure successful implementation of a planned giving program both by informing marketing and prospecting strategy as well as by personally soliciting and assisting in the solicitation of planned gift prospects.
    • Set direction and give guidance to the stewardship program to recognize donors in effective and meaningful ways.
    • Provide direction and leadership for research and prospect management, setting measurable and attainable goals and evaluating outcomes to ensure fund-raising staff have the information they need to target their work with prospective donors.
    • Mentor, train, and supervise staff members. 
    • Develop strong positive relationships with the University community. 
    • Work alongside the Vice President of Institutional Advancement to establish and adhere to annual operating budgets ensuring that development programs are operating in a fiscally prudent and productive way.
    • Keep well-informed of current best practices in the Advancement profession and evaluate new and emerging ideas for potential implementation.
    • Help develop and administer policies related to fundraising and gift stewardship. 
    • Launch successful campaigns for Limestone University through personal solicitations. 
    • Commit to travel and off-site meetings on a weekly basis and attend weekend and evening events as needed. 
    • Strong communications and marketing skills to drive messaging through print, social and online channels.

Proven record of successful giving results. Raisers Edge experience desired, CRM experience required. 

    Computer Skills:

    • To perform the position effectively and successfully should have knowledge of Microsoft Programs, Raisers Edge and be able to perform tasks in Word and Excel. Ability to negotiate new computer programs with ease and learn new software.

    Travel:

    • The ability to travel alone and with others for meetings, events, conferences, and personal visits with constituents may be required.
