  • Assistant/Associate Professor of Elementary Education (#278)

    Limestone University invites applications for the position of a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Elementary Education starting January 2025. The primary responsibilities of the person who occupies this position will include dynamic teaching of undergraduate courses related to Elementary Education and Literacy, advising undergraduate Elementary Education Teacher Candidates, participation in accreditation and other Teacher Education Program academic and social activities, service to the institution and the field, and scholarly activity. Courses will be taught face-to-face on the Gaffney, South Carolina campus during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend events will require attendance. Experience with Canvas is preferred. Familiarity with South Carolina Teaching Standards, CAEP, and South Carolina Elementary Education Standards preferred. Some travel required. 

     A terminal degree with 18 graduate hours in Elementary Education and 18 hours in literacy is required. A minimum of three years of successful elementary public-school teaching is required.

  • Assistant Professor of Psychology (#306)

    Limestone University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology on our main campus in Gaffney, SC. Position will begin in August 2025. Ph.D. in psychology preferred, but ABD candidates will also be considered. Previous undergraduate teaching and advising experience is also preferred. In addition to teaching introductory courses, candidates should have the interest and ability to teach in some of the following areas: psychological disorders, counseling, health psychology, psychology of personality, and social psychology. There may also be opportunities for the successful candidate to teach special topic courses in their area of expertise. Service to the University is also required.      Minimum Qualifications:

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  
    • Highly organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to consistently multi-task. 
    • Current American Heart Association BLS for health care providers CPR certification. 

     Physical and Emotional Qualifications:  

    • Ability to speak clearly to communicate instructions and clarify understanding. 
    • Hearing adequate to discern subtle body sounds. 
    • Visual acuity to accurately observe student performance. 
    • Hand / eye coordination sufficient to operate technology and perform nursing functions. 
    • Consistent temperament capable of adapting, managing, and prioritizing appropriately 
    • Able to handle sensitive situations, protect privacy, and adhere to FERPA and HIPAA guidelines. 

     Reports to:  Director of Nursing  

     Course Management: orient, train, and stay up to date on use of Canvas Learning Management System, Limestone HALO, ATI, Navigate, and any other software systems utilized by the program for effective course development and delivery. Provide timely feedback and grading. Document accurately and appropriately. Submit grades as indicated by university deadlines. 

     Clinical Management: plan for clinical experiences in coordination with the courses in the simulation environment and local facilities, schedule clinical hours, orient students to facilities, manage students while in the organizations, supervise students at all times, evaluate students daily, maintain good working relations with agencies and faculty, communicate and solve issues as they arise, conduct nursing practice without discrimination, respect privacy, be accountable to nursing standards, and scope of practice, and submit evaluations / grades as indicated by University deadlines. 

     Professional Development: Remain current of knowledge, skills and best practices in delivering quality nursing instruction through attending conferences, classes, reading journals and independent study.   

     Teaching: courses as assigned. 

     Evaluation: The nursing program will evaluate the performance of full-time faculty members as outlined in the Faculty & Staff Handbook annually.     Limestone University invites applications for the Adjunct Pool for Education starting January 2023. The primary responsibilities of the people who occupy this position will include teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses related to Elementary Education, Early Childhood, and/or Literacy. Staffing for undergraduate courses is on the main campus in Gaffney, South Carolina and graduate courses for the M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership are online.     Position Summary

    The Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in all facets of program management, emphasizing excellence in international recruiting, program development, and compliance with institutional and NCAA/NCCAA regulations. Key responsibilities include recruiting talented student-athletes globally, with a focus on Spanish-speaking regions, leveraging an MBA in Sports Business to effectively manage program operations and strategic planning. Additional duties involve student-athlete training, academic monitoring, organizing recruiting schedules and visits, traveling to evaluate prospects, contributing to practice planning, developing scouting reports, coordinating fundraising efforts, and organizing summer camps and clinics.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Foster a culture of compliance within the program, ensuring adherence to NCAA, NCCAA, and institutional policies.
    • Oversee practice and competition preparation, contributing to training, game strategy, and player development.
    • Lead international recruiting efforts, with a strong emphasis on Spanish-speaking countries, utilizing Spanish language proficiency to build global relationships and attract top talent.
    • Organize and execute recruiting schedules, including international travel and evaluation of prospective student-athletes.
    • Manage program logistics, including budgeting, scheduling, and strategic planning, applying advanced knowledge gained from an MBA in Sports Business.
    • Promote academic success by monitoring and mentoring student-athletes.

    • Strong administrative, organizational, and program development skills.
    • Effective communication abilities in English and Spanish, fostering strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Advanced strategic and operational planning skills, supported by an MBA in Sports Business.

    Qualifications

    • Education and Experience: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with at least two (2) years of collegiate coaching experience at the NCAA Division I, II, or III levels. An MBA in Sports Business is highly preferred.
    • Language Skills: Proficiency in English & Spanish is required, with the ability to effectively communicate in both written and spoken formats across multiple settings.
    • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to adapt quickly to new software programs.
    • Travel Requirements: Frequent travel for competition, recruiting, and related program activities.

    Physical Demands

    Work Environment

    Work is divided between athletic facilities and an office setting, with significant time spent on-site for practice, games, and athlete development activities.

  • Administrative Assistant for Student Success Department (#212)

    Limestone University invites applications for a full-time position Administrative Assistant to the Division of Student Success.

    Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant to the Division of Student Success supports the departments housed within the Division of Student Success in operational and administrative details and performs functions that require a thorough understanding of university policies, procedures, and operations. The Administrative Assistant ensures the Office of the AVP/Dean of Student Success operates effectively and efficiently maintaining a professional environment and exercising initiative and independent judgment in managing the office’s daily activities and schedule.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Promotes a positive image of the University by greeting and receiving visitors to the Student Success offices, responding to and referring inquiries from the University community to the appropriate office or person, resolving problems, and following up as needed.
    • Interacts extensively with the University community, students, prospective students, and external stakeholders, ensuring a welcoming and responsive environment.
    • Facilitates and maintains the campus Emergency Food Pantry.  This includes being the facilitator of grant monies, donations, and bookkeeping.
    • Serves as a liaison between the Dean of Student Success and other University administrators, faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders by communicating or interpreting policies, decisions, or documents issued by the University and gathering and providing information to the AVP/Dean of Student Success
    • Safeguards the confidentiality of the University by exercising discretion in communicating information to internal and external stakeholders served by the University and in handling administrative records, files, and similar confidential items.
    • Provides information for reports and records through research, data retrieval, compiling and tabulating statistics, and organizing and presenting the information in usable and understandable formats.
    • At the discretion of and in coordination with the AVP/Dean of Student Success, assists with the division budget and keeps a vigilant record of expenditures per the Business Office policies and procedures.
    • Serves as Administrator of university student database (Navigate). Troubleshoot, run reports, and assist as faculty and staff need.
    • Assist as needed in the planning of Division and University events such as Convocation and Award/Recognition ceremonies.

  • Director of First Year Experiences (#204)

    Limestone University invites applications for a full-time position of Director of First Year Experiences 

    Position Summary: The Director of First Year Experiences will oversee all programs geared toward first year students, including summer orientation programs, first year advising, the First Year Experience course: The Saint Experience, and success coaching. The goal of the Office of First Year Experiences is to support undergraduate students to ensure a successful transition from high school or other higher education institutions to Limestone and provide support during their first year and beyond. The ideal candidate must be committed to meeting students where they are to foster a supportive and educational environment. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   

    • Develop strategies to support students and their overall student experience, specifically in their first year of college;
    • Counsel, advise, and support students to empower them to develop and achieve their personal, academic, and career goals;
    • Work collaboratively with faculty to ensure First Year Advising has up to date information on academic programs and degree requirements;
    • Track first-year students' progress, through communication and analytics;
    • Facilitate new student orientations to increase awareness of and engagement with campus resources;
    • Collaborate with other departments to deliver high-level programs focused on first-year advising, orientation, and first-year success;
    • Supervise the Office of First Year Programs staff including evaluating, motivating, hiring, and training personnel;
    • Manage the department budget, including developing budget proposals, justifying expenses, and monitoring accounts;
    • Conduct regular assessment of services and learning outcomes;
    • Facilitate first-year experience course and serves as an instructor;
    • Recruit, train, and evaluates FYE course instructors
    • Collaborate with other departments and services to understand processes, systems, and services and to resolve student issues.

    Required Qualifications:       

    • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Higher Education, Advising, Counseling,

    Social Work, or closely related field.

    • Three years of experience working with students within a higher education institution, specifically in first-year experience, orientation, academic advising, or counseling.
    • Experience with planning and facilitating orientation sessions and campus workshops, teaching and advising.
    • Prior supervisory and budget management experience. 
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Proven experience in planning and budget management.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Position Summary: The Sibs Collins Counseling Center provides accessible, equitable, inclusive short-term mental health counseling for the Limestone community. The counselor will work alongside the Director to support students developing insight, personal growth and resilience skill to aid in the achievement of the personal, educational and career goals. The counselor will work a diverse population and a broad spectrum of emotional, psychological, developmental, social, and academic concerns. The counselor will respond to students and campus-wide crises on an on-call rotation. As a member of the Counseling Services team, this position reports to the Director of Counseling Services and is a part of the Student Success Division.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Provide counseling services to enrolled students, faculty and staff.
    • Conduct intake, triage, and crisis appointments.
    • Complete treatment plans, progress notes, and other documentation
    • Conduct small-group and campus-wide educational outreach and consultation.
    • Serve as a liaison to various university areas and constituencies as assigned.
    • Maintain records and ensure the confidentiality of private health information in keeping with professional ethics and best practices.
      • Provide both in-person and telehealth counseling services.
      • Provide daytime crisis intervention, emergency, and on-call services.
      • Coordinate care between Counseling Services and other campus departments and community resources, meeting the needs of students and ensuring continuity of care.
      • Consult with the Director of Counseling Services and other university staff, faculty, and administration as needed.

    Education and Experience:

    Required qualifications:

    · Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Counselor Education, Sports Psychology, or a related field.

    · Minimum of two years of professional counseling experience

    · Licensed or licensure eligible in the state of South Carolina (if not yet licensed, licensure must be achieved within a year of the date of employment).

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Professional 
    • Demonstrated experience and skills in facilitating culturally sensitive and inclusive outreach and educational programming.
    • Demonstrated experience working with college-age populations (undergraduate through graduate/professional level), preferably with athletes, veterans, first-generation students, or non-traditional students.

    Language Skills: Ability to read and analyze federal regulations, psycho-educational evaluations, grant requirements, and instructions and assess appropriate responses. Ability to write/review policies and procedures in a professional manner; ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one situations and small group situations to students, parents, faculty, and staff. Ability to correspond effectively and present information in both one-on-one situations and small group situations to students, alumni, faculty, and staff.

    Problem Solving: Responds quickly to students, alumni, faculty, and staff concerns to find an appropriate solution. Considers all facts to come to the best plan of action. Uses sound judgment, gives attention to detail and maintains high work standards. 

    Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages. 

    Reasoning Ability: Above-average ability to apply effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to look for solutions to the normal and abnormal situations which arise from students, parents, faculty, and staff. 

    Computer Skills: Have knowledge of Microsoft Programs and be able to perform tasks in Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to negotiate new computer programs and software with ease.

    Travel: Ability to travel alone and with others to meetings, satellite sites, and conferences.

    Physical Demands: Ability to perform the physical demands of the position. May require sitting or standing for long periods, and lifting of up to 20 pounds.

    Work Environment: Generally busy. Most days are quiet but it can be loud at times. Buildings have heat and air conditioning, but not individual office settings. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

    Work Schedule: Duties are normally performed during normal business hours. Additional hours may be required to meet the needs of students and to participate in the life of the University. Some movement around campus is necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

    The Limestone University Campus Safety Department is seeking a Full Time Campus Safety Officer to the join the Campus Safety Team. This position reports directly to the Chief of Campus Safety.

    Qualifications:

    • Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age (SLED REQUIREMENT).
    • Far visual acuity of at least 20/30 in each eye with or without corrective lenses; Vision capable of distinguishing basic color groups against a favorable background.
    • A current and valid Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one before appointment.
    • The ability to obtain SLED Certification or currently have obtained SLED Certification in Armed Security.
    • Ability to maintain the requirements set forth in Article 9, Chapter 73, S.C. Code of Regulations (73-400 to 73-422). South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

    General Responsibilities:

    • Informs the Shift Sergeant and/or the Lieutenant and Chief of any unusual situations or circumstances that come to their attention
    • Patrols assigned areas making inquiries and inspection oriented towards protecting of life and property, preventing crime and accidents (Patrols include both foot and vehicle)
    • Observes and reports any faulty or unsafe equipment and/or conditions
    • Properly investigates all assigned incidents and document the findings of the investigation on department report forms
    • Accurately completes all necessary administrative forms and reports
    • Enforces college parking and traffic regulations by the issuance of parking and traffic citations
    • Diffuses difficult situations and will accompany unauthorized individuals off college owned and controlled property

    • Determines “probable cause” and makes arrests of individuals in compliance with South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and department policy

    • Testifies clearly and truthfully during campus conduct hearings and/or court proceedings
    • Provides emergency first aid to injured or ill person(s) and assists in the transportation of these persons when necessary

    • Responds to calls for assistance
    • Assists stranded motorists by jumping dead batteries
    • Provides crowd and/or traffic control during scheduled activities and/or emergency situations

    • Occasionally remains on-duty, past the normal work shift, in the event of an emergency situation
