Limestone University students must be at least 17 years of age and be enrolled full-time as a day campus student to live in campus housing. The only exception to the full-time status requirement is for graduating seniors in their final semester. If a student’s enrollment status changes to part-time, the University has the right, but not the obligation, to terminate the housing agreement. Limestone University does not offer family housing.

Limestone University requires full-time, dependent, undergraduate students to live on campus unless they meet one of the following requirements:

Requirements:

  • Student is age 21 or older. Student must reach the age of 21 prior to the start of the semester to reside off campus.
  • Student resides with parent(s), grandparent(s), or legal guardian(s) in their primary/legal residence within a 50-mile radius of campus.
  • Student has resided on campus for four consecutive semesters.
  • Student has earned at least 60 credit hours.

Failure to follow this policy will result in the student being billed for the cost of room and board regardless of their utilization of the services.

Any student wishing to change their status from residential to commuter must complete a Change of Residency Status Request Form. The Director of Residence Life & Housing must approve the request before final arrangements are made, including signing a lease or moving belongings out of a residence hall.

If a student’s request to change their residency status is denied, they may appeal the decision in writing to the VP/Dean of Student Success. The decision to grant an exception to the residency requirement is based on the individual circumstances of each student, and students should not expect appeal outcomes to be the same for every person.

All decisions made by the VP/Dean of Student Success are final, and there is no further avenue of appeal.
