A total of seven new members were recently named to the Limestone College Board of Trustees.
“We are honored to have these dedicated leaders serving on the College’s Board of Trustees,” said Limestone President Dr. Walt Griffin. “Their experience and insight will be invaluable to Limestone’s commitment to providing a quality education for our students.”
The new trustees elected prior to the 2017-2018 academic year were:
Carolyn Huguley Borders, who resides in Greenville, is a Limestone alumna from the Class of 1960. A retired educator, she has previously served one term on the Limestone Board of Trustees. Borders earned a Master’s in Education and a Master’s in Administration from Clemson University. She and her late husband William have two children.
Michael (Mike) R. Daniel, who resides in Gaffney, is an attorney, a former Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina, and is a registered governmental and business lobbyist. Daniel served for 10 years in the South Carolina House of Representatives. He previously served one term as a Limestone Board of Trustees member. Having attended The Citadel, he is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from USC. Daniel served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army and his now a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the South Carolina National Guard. He and his wife Margaret have three children.
David E. Dorman, who resides in Gaffney, is a Certified Public Accountant and the Controller for Hamrick Mills, Inc. He has served two previous terms on Limestone’s Board of Trustees. A Limestone alumnus from the Class of 1983, he earned a Master’s of Professional Accounting from Clemson University and a Master’s of Divinity from Gardner-Webb University. He and his wife Debbie have two children.
Lyman W. Hamrick, who lives in Gaffney, serves on the Board of Directors for Hamrick Mills, Inc. A former Chairman, Hamrick has served two previous terms on the Limestone Board of Trustees. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Presbyterian College. He and his wife Lee have two children.
Harold J. Moore, who resides in Greer, SC, is the Vice President & CIO for Information Technology at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Having served on a number boards throughout his career, this is his first term with the Limestone Board of Trustees. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and has Master’s degrees from Columbia University and Montclair State University. He completed the Public Health program at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He and his wife Kathryn have two children.
Dr. James (Jim) M. Prevost, who resides in Shelby, NC, is a Limestone College Alumnus from the Class of 1979. He is a school administrator for Cleveland County Schools. He is serving his first term as a Limestone Board of Trustees member. Dr. Prevost earned a Master’s degree from Gardner-Webb University and his Doctor of Education from the University of Phoenix. He and his wife Mary Ann have two children.
Gregory M. Tate, who resides in Gaffney, is a retired CFO/Controller in the construction industry who now serves as a financial consultant in that industry. He is a Limestone College Alumnus from the Class of 1971. Previously serving on the President’s Advisory Council, this is his first term as a Limestone Board of Trustees member. He and his wife Cynthia (’72) have two children.
All of the new members are serving five-year terms, with the exception of Tate, who is serving a three-year term.
