Limestone University is proud to call the City of Gaffney and Cherokee County home. For many years, we’ve offered a $1,000 per year tuition discount to traditional undergraduate students who live in our home county or attend one of Cherokee County’s high schools.
Located on the site of a former Limestone mining quarry since 1845, Limestone University has been referred to as “The Rock” for countless decades.
And now we’re ready to “Rock The Upstate” with even more affordable tuition opportunities for our surrounding neighbors.
As we continue to recruit the best and brightest students possible, while also making a Limestone education more accessible and affordable than ever, we’re growing our local tuition discount to nine other counties near our campus – across the Upstate of South Carolina and into nearby counties in North Carolina.
We believe that a high-quality, affordable four-year degree should be within reach in a supportive, family-oriented atmosphere that’s close to home. Effective for the fall 2024 class, Limestone University’s local tuition discount program is expanding to students living outside of Cherokee County in the following counties:
South Carolina Counties
- Cherokee
- Greenville
- Laurens
- Spartanburg
- Union
- York
North Carolina Counties
- Cleveland
- Gaston
- Rutherford
- Polk
Students who qualify for the “Rock The Upstate” discounted tuition program and are accepted to Limestone University through the traditional application process have the option to live on Limestone’s beautiful campus or commute to their classes in Gaffney.
Many students may receive even more financial assistance through various Limestone University grants and scholarships. Currently, 98% of students receive financial aid and scholarships, and Limestone awards over $13.9 million in scholarships and grants each year.
