The Inauguration of Limestone’s Twenty-Fourth President, Dr. Nathan B. Copeland

Limestone University and its Board of Trustees will install Dr. Nathan B. Copeland as president of the University during inauguration ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2024, in Fullerton Auditorium.

The University invites Alumni and Friends to a luncheon in the Hines & Riggins Center following the event. 

“We hope many Limestone students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends of the College, and delegates from other academic institutions will join us for this celebration,” says Randall Richardson, chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees. “Dr. Copeland is a dynamic leader who brings an abundance of experience and energy to the role of President at Limestone University. He understands our mission as a Christian-based institution that has been at the forefront of higher education for nearly 180 years, and he will lead Limestone into an even brighter future.”

Limestone alumni and friends, from around the country, will also have an opportunity to view the inauguration online via the Live Stream page.

Dr. Nathan B. Copeland began serving as the 24th President of Limestone University in May 2024. He was selected as the President of Limestone by a vote of the Board of Trustees in April 2024, and he took office a month later. He had previously served, since 2021, as the Vice President of Advancement and Enrollment at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. Dr. Copeland received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from Harding University and his Doctor of Education degree from the University of Alabama.

He arrived at Spring Hill College after serving as Vice President of Operations for Wiggins incorporated in Montgomery, Alabama a nationwide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractor group, and Principal for The Alabama Group, a small business development company.
