Limestone University is delighted to extend an invitation to Limestone CARES (Community Appreciation & Resource Experts Summit), a special event designed to honor and celebrate your invaluable contributions. Please join us for a day dedicated to you.
This summit is our heartfelt thanks for your tireless work supporting students and employees. Your dedication to creating supportive environments and breaking barriers is commendable, with a profound impact on both academic and professional success.
This breakout session will provide participants with a summarized version of the Mental Health First Aid Training and help them understand the signs and symptoms of a mental health crisis.
Panelists led by Dr. Michelle Phillips-Meek and Joshua Martin will offer their unique perspectives on the crisis intervention process to help attendees craft a distinct plan and defined role for those intervening during a crisis. The goal of this session is not to create more counselors or first responders, but to teach the skills needed to provide initial support to a person until they are connected with the appropriate professional care.
This session is useful for those who work in Human Resources, guidance counselors, business executives, and any other professional who works closely with other people.

This will be a session regarding the unique connectivity with diversity, equity, inclusion, a sense of belonging, and human resources. The connection between all of these is very much like a dance and, if done properly, you will see a beautiful mixture of diverse styles and movements.
The session will include a wealth of knowledge to help ensure that the dance goes smoothly. To understand how to work together in rhythm, we must learn to appreciate a “person-first” approach and give attention to the individuals you are dancing with. Our purpose in this session is to help you gain the ability to process each step in a meticulous way, in a format that gives everyone the opportunity to see beyond biases, stereotypes, prejudices, and any other differences while still being served equally.
Mrs. Lankford and Ms. Scott have prepared a genuine and thought-provoking approach from conversations and experiences within our university, to show how Limestone has learned to dance gracefully in equality, fairness of services, and respect to all whom we serve. Our expertise comes from passion, compassion, professionalism, and activism. We welcome you to our dance.
