The Limestone College Wind Ensemble will perform an “American Horizons” concert on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium.
Admission to the concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Conducted by Dr. Patrick Carney, Limestone Director of Instrumental Music, the Wind Ensemble will feature the works of prominent American composers who have defined the wind band profession throughout the 20th Century. Among them is “Illuminate the Horizon,” an original composition written and conducted by Joseph Earp, Limestone’s Director of Athletic Bands.
“There are very few institutions of higher education where undergraduates are afforded opportunities to perform original music and conduct large ensembles comparable to Limestone,” Carney said. “Providing this experience has helped develop the College’s instrumental music program into a serious destination for a number of young musicians, including the five music majors featured in the Wind Ensemble.”
