Cherokee Alliance of Visual Arts (CAVA) recently held a reception for the art exhibition “Anything Goes!” by Limestone College Professor Carolyn Ford. The reception took place at the Gaffney Visitors Center and Art Gallery last month.
“It's wonderful to include an art event each summer prior to the South Carolina Peach Festival celebration here in Cherokee County,” Ford said. “The work I have on display is a three-part disk piece featuring the three parts of Tennessee and the iconic music each area features. From Elvis, Johnny Cash, to Dolly Parton, the state shows a variety from rock-n-roll, country to bluegrass. This project came from a series reflecting upon the rich cultural heritage as a native Tennessean.”
The exhibit started at the Gaffney Visitors Center and Art Gallery in June and will continue through July 20 as a Pre-S.C. Peach Festival event. The juried exhibit features artists from across North and South Carolina.
Ford has worked at Limestone since 2003 and has served at the Art Department Chair since 2010. Her works can be viewed at www.carolynfordart.com
