Limestone College Names Jeremy Whitaker New Controller

Limestone College recently named Jeremy Whitaker, CPA, as the institution’s new Controller.

Whitaker now oversees the Business Office, while also working with budgeting and student accounts.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Limestone in 2008 and completed his Master of Accounting at Gardner-Webb University in 2011. He is a 2004 graduate of Blacksburg High School.

While studying at Limestone, Whitaker interned at the Cline, Brandt, Kochenower & Co. CPA firm in Gaffney, which led to a full-time position as Staff Accountant in 2008. After a promotion to Senior Accountant at the firm, Whitaker moved to Milliken & Co. in Spartanburg as Corporate Accounting Supervisor in 2013.

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Whitaker is a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Internal Control Auditor.

Whitaker said returning to his alma mater was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

“I jumped at the chance to come back to Limestone,” Whitaker said. “The College has always had a special place in my heart, and I wanted to come back to do whatever I could to contribute to making it even better.”
