Whitney Cliff, who was recently crowned as Mrs. Gaffney, will travel to Las Vegas this September 6-10 to take part in the Mrs. United States Pageant.
She will be representing both Gaffney and the state of South Carolina in the pageant.
The Mrs. United States pageant celebrates married women and believes women should be celebrated for their ability to integrate beauty and intelligence.
Cliff currently serves as the Director of Intramurals at Limestone College, while her husband, Ryan, is an Assistant Coach with the Saints baseball team. Both are graduates of Limestone.
She earned her degree in Sport Management from Limestone in 2015 and went on to obtain a Master’s in Education of Coaching and Leadership from University of Rio Grande in 2017. Cliff is currently in the third year of her Ph.D. candidacy at Concordia University Chicago in Health and Human Performance.
Her platform falls directly in line with her current studies as she is advocating for mental health and eating disorders. She is currently authoring a book on her personal struggle with an eating disorder while she was a college athlete. In an effort to prevent others from going down the same path, she is using the book to provide a look into her own experiences and education on nutrition.
As part of her Ph.D. program, Cliff is completing her dissertation on social media effects on eating disorders and body dysmorphia in women.
She will look to join fellow Limestone College Alumnus Caitlin Russell as a competitor at the national level as Russell earned the title of Miss South Carolina United States last year.
