The Limestone Theatre Program has announced a new on-campus activity for the University family: “Drama Hangout!”
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to a low-key environment to read through play scripts together. This will provide an opportunity to practice public-speaking, enjoy some snacks, and make new friends. The readings will take place on select Thursdays each month, from 2:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the Limestone Theatre Room 20.
The first iteration of “Drama Hangout!” will take place on Thursday, Sept. 29. It will be a reading of Arthur Jolly’s “The Lady Demands Satisfaction,” a comedy set in 1756 that revolves around a young maiden who must defend her inheritance in a duel, and therefore learning to swordfight while navigating an array of interesting characters along the way.
The second reading will take place the next Thursday, Oct. 6, and will be a reading of “The Wolves,” a drama that follows the lives of a girls’ soccer team somewhere in suburban America as they prepare for games and, over the course of six weeks, grow as friends and individuals.
Anyone who wants to read or listen is invited to join and can sign-up HERE.
