The Limestone University Art Gallery is inviting local artists to submit to its 2024 juried exhibition. This year’s theme, “Rooted in History,” recognizes the artist’s personal history, subject matter, and ties to broader art history, history of media, and narratives portraying historical time periods.
The exhibit will be on display from November 15, 2024 through January 17, 2025. The Gallery will also host a reception and awards ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m.
All artists from the high school level to professional status are encouraged to apply and all media types are accepted. Each applicant can submit up to five works of art. All submissions should be sent to the Gallery Director, Emily Tuttle, no later than October 18, via email at etuttle@limestone.edu. There is a $20 submission fee. The fee can be submitted HERE.
For the second consecutive year, the Limestone arts program will also host a junior art exhibition for artists in elementary and middle school. The junior artists are also allowed to submit up to five works of art, and the works are not required to meet the annual theme of the juried exhibition. All works should be prepared for installation upon arrival, and there is no fee required.
All submissions should include images in jpeg format, 300dpi, an artist statement for individual or collective works that reflects upon the theme of the exhibit, valuations of submitted works, and a list of any installation needs. Artists must include a full label for the works including the title, artist’s preferred name, medium, and a school or professional affiliation if so desired.
