Limestone University’s Fall 2024 Student Research and Presentations Symposium will take place on Friday, Dec. 6, inside the library at the Hines & Riggins Center.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. and continue throughout the morning and afternoon.
The Student Research and Presentations Symposium occurs bi-annually to allow students to share, discuss, and interact with their peers and the Limestone community regarding their research and creative works. Additional goals of the Symposium include encouraging inter-disciplinary collaborations, providing a venue where quality works can be seen as examples to be modeled after by students the following year, and offering a convenient platform for students to experience presenting beyond the classroom. It also offers the opportunity for the work of students to be shared beyond the Limestone campus in an online environment through the University’s Shared Shelf digital platform.
More than 190 Limestone students will present at the symposium, representing students studying criminal justice, art, business, kinesiology, finance, communications, biology, and English, as well as presentations from the Honors College.
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions, in partnership with the Limestone Library, is welcoming Cherokee County’s high school students to the upcoming symposium.
“We are anticipating up to 60 college preparatory, honors, and Advancement Placement students to attend our event from the local high schools,” said Travis McDowell, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “We appreciate this opportunity and look forward to fostering these relationships with students across Cherokee County.”
The library is also partnering with Limestone's Art Program and Gallery to welcome art history students from Wofford College and Furman University to present at the symposium alongside Limestone students.
There will be both in-person and on-line presentations, including in-person poster sessions.
