Limestone University has announced the hiring of Joshua Martin as the new Director of Counseling and Mental Health Services.
A Gaffney native and Limestone graduate, Martin returns to the University to lead the Sibs Collins Counseling Center, which provides mental health services to students, faculty, and staff on campus.
“I am thrilled to be part of The Rock,” Martin said. “The University feels like home for me, and I have driven past it so many days over my lifetime. But, today, I can officially say that I am once again a part of the Saints family.”
Martin has served in a variety of mental health counseling roles. Most recently, he was one of the school-based clinical counselors for ReGenesis Healthcare in Spartanburg School District 6, primarily located at the Dorman High School Freshman Campus. Additionally, he has worked at the Cherokee County Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, as well as Envision Counseling Services in Spartanburg.
Prior to beginning his counseling career, Martin worked as a shift supervisor at Hamrick Mills, and as an account manager for Red Bull. While at Hamrick Mills, though, he said that he decided to follow his calling to help people become their best self.
Martin received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Limestone in 2015 before going on to earn his master’s in clinical mental health from Liberty University in 2020.
