Limestone College’s Megan Anderson and Stacey Mason have been selected to serve on the program review committee for the National Conference on The First-Year Experience.
The conference, sponsored by the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition, provides an ongoing forum where higher education professionals can share experiences, concerns, and accomplishments related to supporting student learning, development, and success in the first college year. The conference will take place February 16-19, 2019, in Las Vegas.
“We are in the midst of many changes to our first-year programming,” explained Professor Anderson, who is the College’s Chair of Interdisciplinary Studies, and Instructor of English and Interdisciplinary Studies. “Our involvement with the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience is instrumental in creating a curriculum that meets students' changing needs.”
“Megan and I are passionate about developing programs that support first-year students,” added Mason, who is Limestone’s Dean of Student Success. “We have attended this conference in the past and we look forward to being involved in the selection of this year's presentations.”
The Annual Conference on The First-Year Experience is designed to provide educators from every segment of higher education an environment to share innovative ideas, programs, tools, and research critical to the learning, development, and success of first-year college students.
