Stacey Mason recently took the reins of Limestone College’s Division of Student Success as its new Dean.
The Division of Student Success, recently created by the College’s President Dr. Darrell Parker, is comprised of a number of offices, staff, and programs working together to foster a well-rounded collegiate experience at Limestone. Each unit in the division supports students in their academic goals and personal journeys while they work toward completing their degree.
“When we embarked on the creation of this department, we had one goal top of mind – creating a better student experience for all our students,” Parker said. “With Stacey’s direction, we feel confident that our students will now have access to all the study, mentoring, coaching, and self-development resources they need in a welcoming environment.”
As the Dean of Student Success, Mason will provide leadership and direction for the Center for Professional Development, Office of Accessibility, Office of Student Enrichment, Office of Academic Support, the Testing Center, and the Math and Writing labs. In addition, the division will support the College’s international and honors students while working to support recruitment and retention efforts.
“I am thrilled to be selected as Limestone's first Dean of Student Success,” Mason said. “I have been impressed by the work of the individual departments and look forward to joining our efforts to provide students with a seamless experience. We are able to serve our students more efficiently with the resources needed for their success."
At the core of the Division’s approach, Mason noted, is the development of programs, policies, and practices designed to improve student outcomes through indicators that measure engagement, retention, persistence, graduation, and post-graduate employment rates.
“We are now a division that can readily help students from the time they are accepted until the time they graduate and beyond,” Mason said. “We are committed to helping students shape an educational experience at Limestone that will enrich their future.”
Prior to her arrival at Limestone, Mason worked at Spartanburg Methodist College where she was the Director of Housing and Residence Life. She earned a Master of Education degree with a concentration in Student Affairs from Clemson University and completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work at Winthrop University.
