Limestone College’s Presidential Search Committee has announced the formation of a webpage that will provide updates on its progress.
Dr. Walt Griffin, who has led Limestone College since 1992, announced in April his plans to retire later this year as President of the historic liberal arts institution in Gaffney. Dr. Griffin will continue to serve as Limestone’s President through the end of the 2017 fall semester which concludes with graduation ceremonies December 14-16.
The Limestone College Board of Trustees has launched a comprehensive national search for the College’s 21st President. The 13-member Presidential Search Committee is composed of trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, and business leaders who are soliciting input from the campus community.
The Presidential Search webpage can be located at www.limestone.edu. It includes a section for the latest news and announcements, a search timeline, information about the members of the search committee, and updates regarding the pursuit of a professional firm to assist with the search.
The webpage also allows visitors to provide input regarding the characteristics they would like to see in Limestone’s next President.
“We encourage friends of the College to visit the webpage often so that we may keep them apprised of the committee’s progress,” said David Riggins, the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the Chair of the Search Committee. “Our goal is to be as transparent as possible at each step along the way to identifying the next President. The webpage will contain all matters related to the search, from the beginning steps to the new President being selected.
“One of our main objectives was to create one location where our Limestone community could go to get the latest information without having to search for it,” Riggins continued. “The College’s Communications Department and the Web Administrator are working together to help us provide just that. Members of the Search Committee are also excited about the prospect of visitors having the ability contribute comments as we set about making this very important decision.”
Limestone College faculty, staff, and students will receive emails when updates have been made to the Presidential Search webpage. Notifications concerning those updates will also posted on Limestone’s social media pages, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
“We look forward to continuing our engagement with our campus community during this journey to an even brighter future for Limestone College,” Riggins said.
