Joseph Earp Hired To Lead Marching Saints At Limestone

Limestone College has hired as its new Assistant Director of Bands Joseph Earp, whose primary responsibilities will include directing and educating students in the school’s marching band, known as the Marching Saints.

Earp will officially join Limestone’s Department of Music staff on July 1. He will also be responsible for the music program’s recruiting efforts.

“Joseph will bring an enthusiasm for music and education that the Marching Saints membership needs and deserves,” said Dr. Patrick Carney, Limestone’s Director of Bands.

Earp is an active music teacher, published composer, and arranger. He has taught high school band for 11 years, with the past eight of those being at Cox Mill High School in Concord, NC, where he served as the founding Director of Bands. He has enjoyed numerous achievements during his career, including top performance ratings and awards from his instrumental ensembles. Earp has also gained recognition from various organizations on the local, state, and national levels.

He and his wife, Mary Beth, have two sons, Jackson and Jasper.

“My vision is to support Limestone College, the Department of Music, and Dr. Carney by fostering a positive learning environment and image for the Marching Saints,” Earp explained. “I’m excited to contribute to the continued development, evolution, and creation of traditions for the Marching Saints.”

The Marching Saints will make their 2017 debut when the Limestone football team plays its first home game this upcoming season on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. against Benedict College.
