Limestone Planning Student Trip To Spain In 2018

Limestone College’s Department of Art is planning a tour of Spain in 2018 and is looking for students who might be interested in making the trip.

Professors Carolyn Ford and Emily Tuttle are organizing the 13-day excursion that will include stops in Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Costa del Sol, Seville, Toledo, Madrid, and Lisbon. The trip will also offer a Spanish cooking lesson for those who are interested.

“International experiences are very important for our students,” Ford said. “Seeing art and learning about cultures in the location they originated gives more impact than lecturing from a text. The memories made will last a lifetime. Trips abroad make the students grateful for the opportunities that Limestone College faculty can provide.”

Those interested in the visit to Spain should contact Ford at cford@limestone.edu.

Tuttle, who is currently finalizing her second Master's degree in Art History at Florida State University, teaches Art Appreciation as part of Limestone’s Online Program. Ford is the Chair of the Department of Art, and she is a Professor of Art teaching a wide range of studio courses in the traditional day program. In the past, Ford and Tuttle have led students on trips to Italy and Greece.

Anyone interested in making a financial donation to assist students with the trip is asked to contact Candace Waters at crwaters@limestone.edu.
