The Limestone College Wind Ensemble will present the concert “Ying & Yang” at Fullerton Auditorium on Tuesday, Dec. 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
According to Limestone College Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music Education Dr. Patrick Carney, various dualities will be found throughout each composition and composer, interweaving a connection between them not obvious by title alone. Those interdependent opposites will allow the listener to experience the musical journey in their own way.
The program will include selections from Vaughan Williams, Brahms, Ticheli, Nelhybel, Galante, Chance, and a premiere of Kenyon Wilson's work “Five.” The Limestone College Wind Ensemble was a member of the Chattanooga Memorial Commission consortium which tasked Wilson to create this musical tribute to the fallen.
The concert will also feature three Limestone undergraduate conductors, Tamra Hughes, (Senior, B.A. Music), Taylor Fowler, (Senior, B.A. Music Education), and Tyler Scarabino, (Senior, B.A. Music Education).
