Limestone College’s music department will present its annual Spring Choral Concert on Tuesday, April 21, at Fullerton Auditorium. The theme of this year’s concert is “A Program of 20th & 21st Century Composers.”
Admission to the 7:30 p.m. event is free and the public is invited to attend.
The event will open with “The Star-Spangled Banner” (arr. Richard H. Brewer) followed by “Festival Sanctus” (John Leavitt), “When I Survey The Wondrous Cross” (Gilbert M. Martin) and “Alleluia” (Ralph Manuel).
The Limestone College and Community Chorus will then present “Go Not Far From Me, O God” (Nicola Antonio Zingarelli), “Swingin’ With The Saints” (arr. Mark Hayes) and “Happy” (Pharell Williams).
The Limestone Vocal Ensemble will perform “In Time Of Daffodils” (David C. Dickau), “O Mistress Mine” (Matthew Harris), “The Philosopher” (Rick Sowash), “Make Them Hear You” (Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty), “I Sing Because I Am Happy” (arr. Rollo Dilworth), and “Limestone, Cherished Limestone” (Frank L. Eyer).
Dr. Gena Poovey is conducting the performance, with Dr. David Thompson as accompanist. Michael Makaza will be performing on bass guitar.
