Candace Waters Joins Institutional Advancement Office

A Gaffney native and Limestone alumna has been tabbed to fill a fundraising position in the Institutional Advancement Office at the College.

Candace Waters started her new duties as Assistant Director of the Capital Campaign in November of 2014. She assists the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Director of the Capital Campaign, Kelly Curtis, in fundraising responsibilities.

Waters, who graduated from Limestone in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, was most recently the Executive Director of the Cherokee County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. At Limestone, she serves a critical role as an ambassador for the College, building strong and sustained relationships with constituents, including alumni, parents, and friends with the purpose of soliciting financial gifts on an annual basis. Waters specializes in cultivation and stewardship purposes that result in gifts to the College with a particular focus on the capital campaign.

“We are excited about Candace being a part of our team at Limestone,” Curtis said. “She brings with her a diverse range of career experiences including fundraising, event planning, account management and corporate marketing. In addition to her professional career, she has volunteered time to many local nonprofit organizations and participated in a number of fundraising events for local and national programs. Limestone is enjoying an unprecedented period of growth and Candace is the perfect fit to help take our fundraising efforts to even greater levels in the future.”

Waters and her husband, Jason, have two children, seven-year-old daughter Phifer and two-year-old son Maverick.

“Limestone has experienced remarkable forward progress in the last few years, and I am thrilled to join the College and assist with our fundraising efforts,” Waters said. “I am optimistic that our many alumni and friends will join us in supporting Limestone even more as we position ourselves to be one of the premier, nationally-recognized liberal arts institutions.”
