Renee Clyburn serves at Limestone University as the Special Assistant to the Provost, a position she has held for just over two decades.
She is a graduate of South Carolina State University where she received her bachelor's degree in psychology. She credits a lot of her success at South Carolina State to her advisor and professor Dr. Brenda Cox.
After graduation, she entered the workforce as a lead bank teller before becoming a stay-at-home mom with her newborn child. She then took time off to raise her child before re-entering the workforce after finding a part-time position at Limestone. She started at Limestone as an Administrative Assistant to the Academic Dean as well as the Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Clyburn transitioned to full-time status at Limestone when the Special Assistant to the Provost role was created with her in mind.
A fun fact about her is that she loves her vacation time and enjoying time with her family.
"Black History Month is a time of peace, love, and happiness,” Clyburn said in reference to the importance of Black History Month. She also noted that the perseverance of the black community, both past and present, has led to opportunities that future generations will get to experience.
