Limestone University is now accepting submissions for its upcoming juried show at the Limestone Gallery.
Creative: A Student and Early Career Artists Juried Show will showcase works that embody new or altered methods of creation, art that celebrates the creative individual, or works that question traditional subject matter or media in art (including questioning fine and applied art as indicators of artistic types).
The exhibit in 2023 will run January 20 through February 24, and a reception will be held in the Limestone Gallery on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. The Limestone Gallery is located inside the Hines & Riggins Center of Limestone's campus.
Gallery Director and Art History professor Emily Tuttle invites high school and college students, as well as early artists (pre-graduate school) to submit their works. Accepted applicants are eligible for prize recognition. In addition, she said that artists who choose to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Art at Limestone have the potential to be awarded scholarships.
Submissions for the exhibit will be accepted through November 18. Applicants can send their work to Tuttle at etuttle@limestone.edu.
The entry fee for submissions is $20 per artist, with multiple works allowed under that fee. In addition to the fee, applicants must submit images of their work (in pdf or jpeg formats) and a 250-word statement summarizing their piece(s) and how it embodies creative thinking.
All fees go toward maintenance of the Gallery and a fund for art receptions. Fees can be paid by visiting HERE.
