Scholarships and Grants

Limestone University offers generous scholarship and grant opportunities to incoming students based on academic merit and financial need. 99% of students attending Limestone receive some type of financial assistance. Limestone institutional aid is offered to students who are degree-seeking, full-time (12+credits per semester) students. The amounts below reflect yearly amounts (Fall and Spring).

    Academic Scholarship Opportunities for Freshmen:

    Presidential Palmetto Scholarship- Full tuition, student fee, room and board inclusive of other Federal, State, and Outside Scholarships/Grants. The Presidential Palmetto Scholarship does not cover the cost of lab fees, inclusive access fees, fines, private music lessons, and/or private room charges.

    Requirements: Must be a SC Palmetto Fellows recipient

    Academic Dean Scholarship- up to $13,000 for the year awarded based on High School grade point average (GPA).

    Minimum Requirements: High School GPA 3.0+
    High School GPA 4.0: $13,000
    High School GPA 3.5-3.99: $12,000
    High School GPA 3.0-3.49: $10,500

    Honors Scholarship: up to $500 for the year awarded to students who are admitted into the Limestone University Honors College. Visit the Honors College page for more information.

    Founders Scholarship: up to $8,500 for the year awarded based on High School grade point average (GPA).

    Minimum Requirements: High School GPA 2.0+
    High School GPA 2.7-2.99 $8,500
    High School GPA 2.0-2.69: $7,500

    Cherokee County Bright Scholars Promise: tuition covered in full with no out-of-pocket costs (excluding fees, books, and excluding housing and meals for students who wish to reside in campus housing). We combine all sources of scholarship and grant awards to count toward covering the student’s cost of tuition for up to 2 years.

    How to Qualify
    • Graduate from the Scholars Academy with a 3.0 or higher GPA on the SC Uniform Grading Scale.
    • Submit a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by August 1st with Limestone’s School Code 003436.
    • Enroll at Limestone University as a full-time Day Campus student.

    University Grant Opportunities for Freshmen and Transfers:

    Limestone Grant: awarded automatically based on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

    Minimum Requirements: High School/College GPA 2.0+ and completion of the FAFSA.
    Award amount: $500 for the year

    Visit Grant: awarded automatically to incoming freshmen and transfer students that attend an official Limestone Admissions- sponsored visit.

    Attend an official Limestone Admissions-sponsored visit on campus.
    Award amount: $250 for the year

    Performance Based Scholarship Opportunities for Freshmen and Transfers:

    Athletic Scholarship- award amount varies

    Requirements: awarded by the Coach

    Marching Band Scholarship- award amount varies

    Requirements: open to students who have experience or training in Brass, Woodwind, or Percussion instruments, or Color Guard. Interested students should reach out to Jovon Milford, Director of Athletic Bands, via email at jdmilford@limestone.edu.

    Fine Arts Scholarship (Art, Music) - award amount varies

    Other Scholarship/Grant Opportunities:

    ADAMAH- Christian Leadership at Limestone- award amount varies. Adamah encourages students who seek an intensive program of faith, service, and leadership to apply. Accepted students enroll in Spiritual Formation courses (RE203 and RE204). Adamah opens the door for students to grow roots of faith that will lead them to new heights in their spiritual and academic journey.     Call Me MiSTER®- award amount varies. The mission of Call Me MiSTER® is to increase the pool of available teachers from a broader more diverse background, particularly among the state’s lowest performing elementary schools. The term MiSTER® is an acronym for Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models, and is primarily a mentoring type program where young minority students will be mentored into effective leaders, and will become mentors themselves to their students.     Palmetto Boys’ and Palmetto Girls’ State Scholarship- awarded by Limestone to graduates of Palmetto Boys’ and Palmetto Girls’ State. Palmetto Boys’ and Girls’ State graduates submit a copy of their State certificate to the Financial Aid Office, there is no additional application required for consideration.
    Minimum Requirements: graduate of Palmetto Boys’ State or Palmetto Girls’ State
    Award amount: $1,000 for the year
