Location
The Health Center is located on the 1st floor of the Dobson Student Center offering basic medical service to students, faculty and staff of Limestone University. A Nurse Practitioner is available by appointment two days a week. Students also have access to a consulting physician, Dr. Todd Morgan, for needed appointments.
In order to give proper attention to students' physical and emotional health needs, the following policy will be observed:
A "Medical History" form provided by the Health Center must be completed prior to enrolling at Limestone University. The health form should be returned directly to the Campus Nurse. Athletes: This form is required in addition to the forms required by the Athletic Department. This information could be vital in the event of a medical emergency and is necessary before any student can use the University's Health Center. Limestone University requires all students to show proof of immunizations before enrollment. All students at Limestone should provide a copy of their immunization records with their "Medical History" form to the Campus Nurse before registration. Failure to do so will result in a student not being allowed to register.
In the case of an emergency, students living in a residence hall should promptly report serious illness or injury to an RA or RD; the student should then immediately go to the emergency room at Cherokee Medical Center (1530 N Limestone St, Gaffney, SC 29340) or call 911. The College assumes NO responsibility for the charges incurred by the student for services rendered by the doctor or the hospital.
The mission of Limestone University Health Center is to promote and maintain the health of the student population. This is accomplished by providing quality health care services in a caring environment, where students feel welcomed and valued. The Health Center promotes healthy lifestyles, which support intellectual growth and allow students to develop into responsible members of society.
