Limestone Alumnus, Real Men Lead Mentor David C. Mitchell To Speak At Black History Month Celebration On February 9

David C. Mitchell, a 1991 graduate of Limestone and Real Men Lead Program mentor, will serve as the keynote speaker on Thursday, Feb. 9, as the University begins its observance of Black History Month.

Limestone’s Black History Month Celebration is being sponsored by the Office of Equity and Inclusion, the Black Student Union, and the Real Men Lead Program. It will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. inside the Hines & Riggins Center. The Limestone Jazz Band will also be performing on the program. The theme for the observance of Black History Month is Black Resistance.

A current resident of Greenville, Mitchell graduated from Greenville High School. He received an associate degree in Business from Spartanburg Methodist College, a bachelor’s degree from Limestone, and a master’s degree in Human Resources from Clemson University. Mitchell has also completed post-graduate studies in Leadership from Columbia University and Organizational Development Certification from DePaul University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Gardner-Webb University.
