Limestone University is launching its new “Saints 500” Challenge to engage its dedicated donor base and to provide its students with the resources needed to be successful in the classroom and on campus.
The “Saints 500,” which begins on July 1 and will conclude on October 30, is seeking 500 donors committed to investing $1,000 per year into Limestone’s Annual Fund for the next five years. The challenge will provide the Annual Fund with $500,000 per year and a grand total of $2.5 million over five years.
“We are extremely excited to get the ‘Saints 500’ Challenge underway, knowing that we have so many loyal supporters who are committed to helping our students succeed,” said Limestone Interim President Dr. Monica Baloga. “The Annual Fund is the bedrock of our fundraising. Beyond closing the gap between tuition and the cost to educate each student, the Annual Fund provides an important vehicle for our University community to support our mission.
“Annual Fund donors develop a more meaningful connection with our goals and priorities because those investments help to support the entire Limestone experience,” she continued. “Gifts made to the Annual Fund through the ‘Saints 500’ will go right where they are needed most to make our students’ time on campus the best that it can be.”
To join the “Saints 500” Challenge, visit www.limestone.edu/donate-now and select “Saints 500” from the dropdown menu.
Donors will be improving the Limestone experience for students such as Class of 2019 alumna Lelia Stokes, who majored in Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Sport Business. “Becoming a Limestone University Saint is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” she explained. “Limestone students are more than a number, and professors are more than lecturers. Limestone gives students a college experience that rewards us with more than a degree. We also leave with friendships, connections, and values that will last a lifetime.”
Thanks to the generosity of one of its donors, those who participate in the “Saints 500” will be entered into a drawing to win four tickets to the 2024 Cola-Cola 600 NASCAR race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May. Additional prizes will also be announced soon.
To promote the “Saints 500” initiative at Limestone, NASCAR Legends Series driver Jackson “Jax” Reynolds and his race car will be making a special appearance in the South Carolina Peach Festival Parade in Gaffney on Saturday, July 15. Reynolds’ blue and gold No.9 semi-pro level Legends car is sponsored exclusively by Limestone University and the RM Hines Group, Inc. Limestone’s sponsorship of the car was made possible through a donor. Reynolds is currently ranked 13th out of 240 drivers in semi-pro Legends circuit. Reynolds will be making additional appearances in the area to support Limestone’s “Saints 500.”
