Limestone University student and Gaffney native Liz Shulman will present her Senior Showcase, “The Fruits of My Labor,” with a reception and artist talk on Thursday, April 4, at 6 p.m.
The showcase is currently on display at the Limestone Gallery located in the Hines & Riggins Center. The exhibit, which runs through April 8, and the artist talk are free and open to the public.
In “The Fruits of My Labor,” Shulman uses multiple mediums to give her own take on a common subject matter in art throughout time: fruit. Through paintings, ceramics, embroidery, and other works, she expresses her own experiences and views of life, fruitfulness, and femininity, exploring not only the sweet aspects, but the rotten as well.
