Limestone Hosts Virtual Student Research & Presentations Symposium

Limestone University virtually hosted its recent bi-annual Student Research & Presentations Symposium for the Fall 2020 semester.

For the first time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event took place completely online.

There were 20 presentations with participation from English, Education, Business, and Athletic Training students. Students from Physical Education and Nursing, who were not able to present during the event, were able to share their presentations on Shared Shelf, which is the Limestone library’s open access digital collection.

“Each year, participation in the Symposium is open to Day Campus and Online Program students,” said Lizah Ismail, the Director of the A.J. Eastwood Library. “The event allows the opportunity for our students to share, discuss, and interact with their peers as well as with the Limestone community regarding their research or creative work.

“We hope that the Symposium encourages inter-disciplinary collaborations, provides a venue where quality works can be seen as examples to be modeled after by students the following year, and offers a convenient platform for students to experience presenting beyond the classroom. It also allows the opportunity for the works to be shared beyond our campus in an online environment via Shared Shelf, our open access repository.”
