The Limestone College Department of Music will conduct its 12th annual High School Honor Band Clinic Thursday, Jan. 31, through Friday, Feb.1.
Each year, students from grades 9-12 are nominated by their band directors to participate in the clinic. Those selected are then asked to submit audition videos to determine chair placement. But regardless of where they sit, participants will receive top-notch instruction and the opportunity to perform with their highly-talented peers, completely free of charge.
A total of 180 students from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia are expected to attend.
Dr. Sean P. Murray, Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will be joining Dr. Patrick K. Carney and Mr. Joseph Earp, Limestone’s Director of Instrumental Music and Director of Athletic Bands, respectively, as a guest clinician this year.
The clinic will come to close with a free concert for the public on Friday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium.
