The Limestone College Department of Music will present flutist Angela Massey in concert on Tuesday, October 30, at 7:30 PM in Carroll Recital Hall.
As a soloist and featured artist, Massey has performed in various venues across the United States and Europe, including the National Flute Association Convention, the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City, and the Aiken Performing Arts Group concert series. She was also awarded prizes in the Alexander and Buono Competition, the Frank Bowen Competition, the Myrna Brown Competition, and the Gheorghe Dima International Music Competition in Romania.
Currently Massey serves as the Artistic Director and founder of the Astralis Chamber Ensemble and holds a flute and piccolo position with the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra.
Massey will be accompanied by pianist Miles Massicotte, whose resume includes international performances as a recitalist, chamber musician, composer, and improviser. As a young jazz musician, Massicotte took home the Louis Armstrong Award and has since won the Stony Brook Concerto Competition, the James Furman Memorial Competition, and over 15 additional scholarships and awards.
