Limestone College Professor of English Erin Pushman has been invited for the second straight year to be a Stage One Proposal Reviewer for the national Conference of College Composition and Communication (CCCC). The 2019 conference will take place in Portland, OR in March.
At the beginning of each year, the Conference calls for proposals – based on theories, histories, and performances of college rhetoric and composition – to be submitted by teachers, administrators, and researchers. All proposals are evaluated in two groups (panels and individuals) by reviewers with special expertise in each area, who advise the Program Chair on proposal acceptance.
“I frequently present at CCCC, and it is exciting to help shape the conference on this level and to see emerging research when ideas that will shape the field are still in the proposal stage,” Pushman said. “The conference is the world's largest professional organization for researching and teaching composition, from writing to new media. It is a great honor to be invited for a second year as a reviewer.”
Pushman also serves as a member of the CCCC Creative Nonfiction Standing Group, where she chairs the national Donald Murray Prize in Creative Nonfiction.
