Erin Pushman To Present At Two Upcoming Conferences

Limestone College Professor of English Erin Pushman will have a busy March, as she chairs the national Donald Murray Prize in Creative Nonfiction for the second time while also presenting on creative nonfiction at two conferences in Tampa, FL and Kansas City, MO.

The Donald Murray Prize in Creative Nonfiction is awarded by the Creative Nonfiction Special Interest Group of the Conference of College Composition and Communication (CCCC) and the winner is published in Writing on the Edge.

Pushman will first be presenting on creative nonfiction at the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) Annual Conference, which takes place in Tampa on March 7-10. The session is titled, “The Interrogative Self and the Narrative Line: the Craft of Research in Creative Nonfiction.” Pushman will be both speaking on and moderating the panel.

The second presentation will be held March 14 at the CCCC National Convention in Kansas City. Pushman will be presenting during the session, “Writing Teachers Writing: Transforming through Creative Nonfiction.”

Each year, the CCCC National Convention draws college faculty members from around the world. They gather to hear award-winning speakers, attend presentations by colleagues on the latest innovations in education, and network to gain knowledge of the best practices in the field.

Pushman’s recent feature articles and creative nonfiction have appeared or are forthcoming in Breastfeeding Today, Women’s Health Today, 1966, The Gettysburg Review, Pangyrus, Confrontation, and Cold Mountain Review.

In addition to being a Professor of English, Pushman is the Director of the Writing Center at Limestone.
