To celebrate legendary Limestone baseball coach Gaylord Perry being officially inducted into the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame (SCAHOF) on Monday, May 23, the Saints baseball team will be wearing "throwback" Perry-era caps during its double-header against Wingate University this Saturday, March 26.
Perry, who headlined the seven-member class of the 2020 SCAHOF, will be officially inducted during a special ceremony on May 23 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The induction was postponed in 2020 and then again in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Limestone will battle Wingate, the 2022 defending NCAA Division II national champions, on Saturday at 12 noon and 6 p.m. at Founders FCU Stadium inside the Bob Prevatte Athletic Complex on campus. The visiting Bulldogs are currently ranked No.1 in the nation.

To celebrate Perry's SCAHOF induction, Limestone players and coaches will be wearing the throwback "L" caps that were synonymous with Perry's squads during his four seasons at the helm from 1987-1990. As the Saints' head coach, Perry compiled an overall 81-57 (.587) mark and three 20-win seasons.
As the program's first coach, Perry also helped secure the funding for the baseball field still being used by the Saints.
