Limestone University and its Department of Athletics are proud to announce the establishment of the Dinker Endowment, a $100,000 fund that will benefit the Saints golf program.

The endowment was made possible by a generous donation from the Alexander family, including Limestone men’s and women’s head golf coach Austin Alexander. The endowment honors his late grandfather, Harold “Dinker” Alexander, whose influence played a significant role in shaping Austin’s lifelong passion for golf.

“We are incredibly thankful to the Alexander family for their continued support of Limestone University and our golf program,” said Hailey Martin, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics. “This endowment will have a profound impact on our golf program, and Dinker’s legacy will inspire our student-athletes to continue striving for excellence.”

Funds from the Dinker Endowment will be allocated annually to enhance the golf program’s resources, supporting Limestone student-athletes in their development both on and off the course.

An event to celebrate the establishment of the endowment and Dinker’s lasting influence will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the Hines & Riggins Center. The evening will feature remarks from Limestone President Dr. Nathan Copeland, Martin, and members of the Alexander family. It will provide an opportunity for community members, alumni, and friends of Limestone to come together in honor of Dinker’s legacy. Guests will enjoy a networking session, a presentation on the significance of the Dinker Endowment, and a reception with light refreshments.

“Harold ‘Dinker’ believed in investing for the future and supporting his grandchildren,” said Rhonda Alexander, Coach Alexander’s mother and Dinker’s daughter-in-law. “We know he would have been thrilled to see this gift support the Limestone Golf Program, a sport he cherished.”

Coach Alexander, who is a former Limestone golfer and alumnus, added, “My grandfather was my biggest supporter, and this gift reflects his values and vision. It will benefit the program in multiple ways, just as he would have wanted. His legacy has shaped my life, and it is only right for this program to receive the same support he gave me.”
