The Gaffney Chapter of the Student Social Work Organization regularly completes several projects each year. The first major project is in October when we complete events to raise awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault. On a fun note, we always gather candy and celebrate Halloween with the local children who venture down College Drive. In November we put together a complete Thanksgiving Dinner for at least 10 families and we deliver them. In February we focus on preventing dating violence. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and we usually try to have a major event on campus to raise awareness and provide education to professionals as well as the community.
