Limestone University’s jazz, woodwind, and brass ensembles will perform in concert on Tuesday, Nov. 5, starting at 7 p.m. inside Fullerton Auditorium.

The Limestone University Art Gallery is currently hosting its latest exhibit, “Visualizing a Lifetime: Remembering Sara Setzer,” which will run through Friday, Nov. 8, at The Gallery, located inside the Hines & Riggins Center. A reception honoring Setzer’s artwork, and her memory, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7, starting at 6 p.m. inside The Gallery.

Limestone University will host guest artist Dr. Leonidas Lagrimas for a solo piano recital on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m., inside Fullerton Auditorium. Admission to the recital is free and the general public is invited to attend.

The Limestone University Music Program will hold its annual faculty recital on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m., in the Carroll Recital Hall. The recital will feature four current faculty members performing a selection of songs for each of their respective areas of focus. The recital is open to the public and free of charge.

The Limestone University Art Gallery will host a one-week pop-up exhibit, “Trophic State Index,” beginning on Friday, Sept. 20, at the Hines & Riggins Center.

A holiday tradition at Limestone University has a new name. The rebranded “All Saints Christmas” event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 9, during the same evening as the much-anticipated return of the luminaries to the campus and surrounding area.

Limestone University To Host Spring Jazz Fest On April 25 The Limestone University Jazz Ensemble will host the Limestone Spring Jazz Fest on Tuesday, April 25, at 7 p.m., in Fullerton Auditorium. The concert is free, and the public is invited to attend. The joint concert with the Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble will feature classic big band jazz music as well as more contemporary arrangements and compositions. The Limestone Jazz Ensemble is conducted by Spencer Nance, and the Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble is conducted by Dr. Tom Wright. “This is a great opportunity for our students in the Jazz Ensemble to perform with musicians of a high caliber from the area,” Nance said. “It also gives us the opportunity to invite musicians from the community to perform on our beautiful campus.” Established in 1996 under the auspices of the Spartanburg Community Band, the Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble was formed in order to create an opportunity for local musicians to provide quality jazz performances to the public. The Jazz Band performs at events such as Spartanburg’s Spring Fling, Music on Main, Dickens of a Christmas, and for special programs such as the Pan American Games for the Blind. The Jazz Band also performs on its own during the popular “Ice Cream Sundays” Summer Concert Series and the Christmas Festival.

The Limestone University Chorus will present its Spring Concert on Sunday, April 23, at 3 p.m. inside Fullerton Auditorium.
